Greeting to those in the cycling blogosphere!

Rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated…. I have been….. sitting round on my ass getting fat!

That is pretty much it from the middle of June until the middle of September the number of rides i’ve been on could be counted on one hand… rubbish I know!

But I am now working in the middle of Sheffield and commuting on the Langster again which means a daily run of 22miles and over 500ft of climbing on a single speed a day!

As those of you who have taken such a sebatical from cycling will know the return is bloody painful! But after 2 weeks i’ve done 300km which is 186miles not bad for a fat guy and it’s starting to get a little easier and definitely getting faster,

I’ll be back with thoughts and pictures soon.

Take care.

Love HM

  1. Congratulations on managing to cope with Shefield on a single speed.

Is it single speed or is it fixed?

  2. It’s single speed, I got some new bars today going for good old standard racing bars rather than the track bars on at the minute, they dont look the same but i’m aiming for comfort

  3. I’ve ended up single speeding instead of riding fixed wheel too.

I’m less that keen on pedalling at 150/200rpm down the hills at the best of times; and first thing in the morning in heavy rush hour traffic is definately not the best of times!
