When the world stops turning (mechanicals so far from home)

Tuesday morning

6am …. Alarm goes off.

6:15am ….. Man slips out of house for early morning ride

6:45am ….. Man has done 15 miles and heading home to allow wife to go for ride

6:50 am ….. Man enters “Straight Mile Lane” (Note* this lane has no footpaths and is used by all car drivers to see how fast they can go)

6:51am …..Cranks stop turning.

6:52am ….. Man inspects cranks can’t see (with uneducated eyes) what is wrong

6:55am ….. Man realises that no amount of shouting, swearing verbal abuse aimed at the bike will resolve the issue of the cranks not turning & having no tools to fix the problem, the problem that man hasn’t even worked out yet

6:56am ….. Man realises he has left his Mobile (cell) phone at home and can not call wife for rescue

6:57am….. Man realises that no amount of shouting, swearing verbal abuse aimed at the bike will resolve the issue of not having phone.

6:58am….. Man starts 5 mile walk home up hill in cycling shoes.

7:30am….. Man still walking, making peace with the Lord as he is sure that a car will take him out any time.

7:50am….. Man arrives at a flat section so uses road bike as a push a long scooter.

8:15am….. Man arrives home sore footed & blisted.

8:16am….. Bike nearly becomes scrap metal

Some time later

9:33am…. Man + Bike + small girl arrive at LBS

9:34am…. Man explains to mechanic friend issue

9:35am….. Mechanic explains solution

Some time later

10:00am…. Man fixes bike following method described by mechanic.

Man ponders of all the times on that ride for this problem to happen why oh why did it have to happen at the bottom of the most dangerous road to walk up?

Because of the law of Sod!

Sods Law clearly states that when it’s your turn it’s really your turn!
